Out with the old and in with the new!
After the past couple of years I think it’s safe to say that we’re all pretty ready to leave the past behind (along with our well-worn sweats) and embrace the future! One tried and tested way to snap into a fresh state of mind is with some updated fashion! So let’s look at some trends that we’re ready to shed as well as their shiny new replacements (pun intended)!
Welcome the reign of the Chunky Chain!
After years of dainty layered chains reigning supreme it’s time for a fresh start with more high impact, heavy duty chains! Now, I may be biased because I’ve always had a penchant for a good statement accessory (case in point, the sizeable body chain collection in my shop) but you don’t have to take it from me. The visionaries at Vogue called out Heavy Links as one of the major trends spotted on the Spring 22 runways
My new FW21 Collection is centred around a striking vintage brass chain that combines both texture and heft for ultra eye-catching vibes. Personally I think you can’t go wrong with the Vintage Brass Chain Convertible Necklace or the matching Choker. The clasp can be attached anywhere on the chain so you can adjust the length or even wear it as a Y necklace! Super versatile and feels like a million bucks (each for a price tag under $150!)
Silver is the new ‘IT’ tone!
Gold is undeniably timeless and will never disappear, but, when it comes what the fashion crowd is feeling right now, Silver is the undeniable tone of 2022! This fresh feeling trend is popping everywhere from clothing to makeup and, you guessed it, every form of accessory you can imagine!
Kristen Nichols, Senior Editor of WhoWhatWear has “been gravitating toward silver pieces more than ever right now" . Even Vogue took note of how designer’s “took a sine to silver” on the Spring 22 Runways. There’s something so fresh and fun about this bright metal!
Goodbye pearls, Hello…. Pearls?!
One trend that seems to have an endless ability to reinvent itself is the, seemingly simple, pearl! We’ve gone from pendants to strands, they’ve been layered with chains and sprinkled across garments, and now, according to WhoWhatWear’s senior editor Allyson Payer “The trend that [she] can't get enough of is unusual, sculptural pearl earrings. They make whatever you're wearing so much more interesting"
So true! They pair beautifully with chunky knits, look elegant with long sweater dresses, balance a micro mini, and talk about a perfect holiday party accessory!
Two of my favourites are the Raine Abstract Pearl Earrings and the Mika Pearl Drop Earrings as pictured below
The best jewelry for you is always the jewelry you love to wear, so whatever the trends of the day, wear what makes you feel your best! No one said knowing a trend means you have to follow it, but it is nice to be in the know!
