Just got back from New York where I was visiting my sister for the launch party for her new custom blazer collaboration with Leandra of TheManRepeller. The blazer they came up with is amazingly fun, and adorably named the Mr. G Blazer after the incomparable character on Summer Heights High. The party was SO fun and the rest of the weekend was a whirl wind of art and fun family drunk time.
I love New York

I have to apologize because I've been a very bad blogger. I finished my Goldsmithing program, and came out alive, and since have been thrust into the chaos of non-student life. On top of that I've also been very busy getting my summer collection ready for sale, but in all the hubub I forgot to post that Fashionotes.com did a lovely write up on both my sister and me! The interview includes a sneak peak of my new collection and photo shoot!

Amazing. Alex and Eli's S/S 2011 collection is essentially my dream wardrobe. Frankly, I don't know how I've lived this long without a pleated jellyfish mini
Well, yes, in fact I do. Just as I call my unmade bed strewn with clothes my "office chair". My bedroom is the proud host of the Dolorous jewellery studio (in reality a great deal of work goes down on the floor at the foot of my bed). But what's a girl (who is both a student and an aspiring entrepreneur) to do? It may not be much but it does the job.
Why, when I have about one square foot of space to work on would I clutter it with a plate of my beloved jewellery and a lizard amongst other curiosities? Well, maybe they're each a valuable aspect of my creative process
Then again maybe I'm just becoming more like my mother
post scriptum. That brooch is from the 1800s and the yarn inside was my grandmother's. Unfortunately, she doesn't remember why she put it there, but we can only assume that the design gene has been passed down in my family for generations. At least thats how it would seem from my immediate family
New Neon Cameo for Summer
As you may know if you've visited my Etsy shop I LOVE custom work because collaboration opens you up to concepts and design perspectives you may never have considered. Enter the Hot PInk Cameo. Born from a collaboration between Anna, one of the designers for Alex and Eli, and I when she asked for an 'electric coral' cameo. Not quite coral but a fabulously bright deep orange-y pink. It looks amazing with denim and is creeping its way into being a daily addition to my summer wardrobe.
