Well I won't speak for everyone, but this is how I do it. I've run myself completely ragged since September with no end in sight. In retail the holiday season starts pretty much in August, and in jewelry it continues through till Valentines Day. Then maybe I'll have a day or two off before I need to start producing and market the S/S collection. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I wouldn't trade it for a thing in the world, but this picture pretty much sums it up. Including the fact that I somehow keep finding the time to go out and get a little silly on weekends. Lets be honest though, after a tough week at work dont we all want to throw on some sequins, kick up our heels, and wind down with some adult beverages?
This summer has been very good to me. Though the heat has ground my production to a near halt, my shopping abilities have apparently remained intact. On top of some amazing antique tools, a collection of beads and pearls from my grandmother, and several feet of vintage chains, I recently acquired some new colours of vinage chandelier crystals which are just begging to be made into crystal bodychains for my fall collection! The crystal bodychains are really one of my favourite pieces so I couldn't be happier to be able to widen the variety.
My camera unfortunately altered the colours a little, the blue is more of a dull periwinkle and the grey is deep and smokey with a hint of forest green (can you tell I love it?). I'm also pretty pleased about these two small grey crystals.
Not sure what I'll do with them but likely two one of a kind pieces.
Expect them in store by early September!

Here are some photos of the Drake Pop up sale taken by the fabulously fashionable Rebecca of 17 candles and Bijou Vintage. She took some beautiful photos of the sale, and was there selling some fantastic vintage items of her own. I actually left with an amazing wood and brass tribal necklace she had, and it'll likely be a summer staple.
